Foynes

A busy fishing and commercial port on the estuary of the Shannon River, Foynes became a terminus for the transatlantic flying boat services of the 1930's and Irish coffee was invented here to warm these passengers. Foynes is a great location for exploring the surrounding region. Our tour to Limerick City and King John's Castle looks at the area's turbulent history, while a tour to The Cliffs of Moher will take in the beautiful scenery of County Clare.

Bunratty Folk Park & Castle - From Foynes, this tour visits the Bunratty Folk Park a restored 19th Century village where traditional jobs and crafts are recreated by costumed characters have been developed around the fortifications of Bunratty Castle, originally dating from the 15th Century.
