Kirkwall -Orkney Islands

This ancient capital of the Orkney Islands has a lot to offer and we show you how the people lived 5000 years ago on our Islanders through the Ages tour. Kirkwall's fine 15th century cathedral and the town's narrow winding streets and lanes lined with compact old houses give the town a special charm so popular with visitors. The Churchill Barriers from World War II and St Margaret's Chapel can be best seen on our Wars & Whisky tour. We also include a visit to the Highland Park Distillery, the most northerly distillery in Scotland, on this tour and end with a "wee dram".

Other excursions include:

Kirkwall Heritage Walk - An enjoyable walking tour round the old town of Kirkwall. 2.5/3 hours.

Balfour Castle - By ferry (or tender) to the island of Shapinsay to see this remarkable castle. Half day.

Orkney Panorama - A full or half day coach tour of this fascinating island.
