ObanThe true splendour of Oban can be seen as you arrive by sea. Overlooked by Pulpit Hill "crowned" with a curious amphitheatre like folly built in 1890 it is a town with plenty to see and do. We take you to the extravagant Inveraray Castle home of the Duke & Duchess of Argyll or on to the fascinating Scottish Highlands tour which includes a visit to Fort William. On a clear day you will see Ben Nevis Scotland's highest mountain and drive through the spectacular pass of Glencoe scene of the massacre of the infamous MacDonald Clan. Other excursions include:Arduaine Gardens - Warmed by the gulf stream these famous gardens have a wide variety of plants, tress and shrubs. Half day. Kilmartin Glen (Valley of the ghosts) - relics of a prehistoric time can be seen including huge standing stones, cairns and crypts. Half day. Mull & Iona - By ferry to Mull and the special island of Iona - said to be the cradle of Christianity in Scotland. Full day. |
