Tyne is the port for the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Newcastle has a history dating from Roman times, but really grew up as a major city during the industrial revolution, today it is going through something of a renaissance with the development of the quayside and the opening of the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts. Tours from here visit the Historic City of Durham and Cathedral and the wild countryside of Northumbria Coast and Alnwick Castle.
