Royal Deeside & Braemar (full day)
This excursion takes us from Aberdeen right through the heart of beautiful Deeside. This area is well known for castles, gardens, whisky distilleries, fishing, fistory and pre- history. Queen Victoria bought Balmoral Castle here in 1855, and for many years the Royal Family used it for their summer holidays. Queen Victoria herself called this area her "dear paradise", and its not difficult to see why! Guests can roam in the gardens and visit the Royal Exhibition in the Ballroom of the Queens own Balmoral Castle. A little further along the route is Craithie Church, built in1895. The Royal Family worship here every Sunday while they are in residence at the castle. Returning to Aberdeen for a short City-tour before arriving back at the quayside. <<Back |
