Duart Castle (half day)
The excursion commences from the colorful little picture postcard town of Tobermory. Heading south towards Duart Castle the drive is breathtaking as we skirt the east coast of Mull with views across the Sound of Mull to the Morvern Peninsula. Stopping at the ancient Duart Castle - the oldest walls of the present Castle were built in the 13th Century. The castle itself enjoys one of the most spectacular and unique positions on the West Coast of Scotland, as it stands proudly on a cliff top overlooking the surrounding area. Visitors can relive the past with a walk through the ancient keep, visit the dungeons where officers of Tobermory's Spanish Galleon were imprisoned and take a journey back through the ages in the exhibition of clan history where many objects of historical interest are on display. <<Back |
